Maria has been a third grade teacher for many years until schools went remote last March. Teaching remotely and being the parent of two Pre-Kindergarten twin boys who also were remote students was a quite the challenge. She managed to end the school year, but decided to resign over the summer. She wanted to help other parents navigate through remote learning, while having to work. Maria started Beyond the Classroom in Ashland, a safe learning environment out of her detached guesthouse. Beyond the Classroom follows all Covid guidelines and is set up like a classroom.
Maria is skilled in teaching many different levels of learners and says it has been a seamless transition to teach students in grades 1-5 within the same group setting. Her experience offers her many on-hand manipulatives and tools to help enhance learning. From baking cookies to scavenger hunts, she offers many different types of learning enrichment.
Maria also offers tutoring and is currently booking for the summer.
