Please meet Jacqueline Parks, Master Aesthetician and Owner of The Skintique of Wayland. I first learned of Jacqueline in December when she was asking for nominations for teachers to receive spa treatments. December was just a few months ago; we were undergoing a surge, most business struggling financially and yet Jacqueline saw past all of it and simply wanted to give back.
As a parent who was and still is in awe and in appreciation of everything teachers have being going through navigating the remote (hybrid) learning challenges- they are so deserving. It was such a kind, thoughtful and generous offer.
When asked about the nominations, she was amazed at the responses and so excited to fulfill their spa days. “In this time of need, all I can do is give the best way I know how”, Jacqueline said. Jacqueline is a cancer survivor and often survivors and care givers the same spa day. She hopes to continue to offer special spa days complimentary for our silent heroes.
Jacqueline’s love for the Industry started at a young age. Her mom had a school in Framingham called The Butterfly Academy of Self-Awareness and Basic Modeling. She taught young men and women basic hair, nail and skincare. At seven years old, she was her mom’s helper during each
session. At 14, she began working as an apprentice at Merle Norman at the Lechmere Mall in Framingham. She grew up going there with my Mother and the owner would always put lip gloss and blush on me. She was so excited to learn about skincare and make up. She has worked in skincare ever since. After college, her heart led her to Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics where she became a licensed Esthetician. “Fourteen years later, I am still in love with my career.” She said.
“I believe in living your life according to your core values. I have come to realize that my place in this world is caring for others. Everyone deserves access to a place where they are offered peace. My experience in the spa industry allows me to produce amazing skincare results at the same time as offering relaxation therapy. It is a privilege to offer the gift of touch, and I will never take it for granted.”- Jacqueline
