20 Things I Learned in 2020

By Brenda Diaz December 31, 2020

As we close 2020, and I enjoy my tea, I cannot help but think back on the year. Without a doubt it has been a roller coaster of a year for all of us. I made decisions I would never think I would make and was faced with medical challenges I never thought could possibly happen to me. However, we endeared. So today, I will share what I learned in 2020.

20 things I learned in 2020

  1. You are not always in control
  2. Family first, always.
  3. Tough times shows true colors in every aspect… friends, jobs, relationships and even family.
  4. It is OK to breakdown, cry for 15 minutes, but you must get back up.
  5. Mind your health- you can have everything in the world, but without good health, you won’t enjoy any of it.
  6. Don’t sweat the small, petty things
  7. Value your mental strength
  8. See the lesson in each challenge faced
  9. Be open to all opportunities, be ready to take action
  10. Be grateful for all experiences, both good and bad
  11. LOVE, simply love
  12. Trust that everything will be OK, even if it’s not.
  13. Actions and inactions speak loader than words
  14. Living simply and mindfully is not overrated
  15. We are self sufficient in many ways
  16. Jerks turned into bigger jerks and the kind became kinder. Appreciate the kind
  17. We choose to be happy
  18. Learn to say no- set boundaries
  19. Be gentler, smile more- it is felt over the phone and is seen through masks. We are all facing our own battles, a kind word or a simple smile can change someone’s day.
  20. Sometimes we need to revisit our goals & redirect our plans to revitalize our spirit.

Oh and for fun sake, one more, since we are going into 2021...

  1. Technology kicks ass… and so do we and our kids (NOW!!!!)

From my family to yours, we wish you the very best 2021. May it be a year of great health, plenty of laughs, filled with tons of love and may you enjoy every single moment of it…

With love,

Brenda
